Micro-Entrepreneurship in the Little Season
Micro-Entrepreneurship in the Little Season
In Christian teachings about the end times, most churches teach that we are in the time period where we are waiting for the second coming of Christ. We look for signs that the tribulation is about to start, like the rise of the beast of Revelation, the appearance of the Anti-Christ, and the breaking of the seals and sounding of trumpets that hail the start of downfall of Mystery Babylon. We wait for the four horsemen of the apocalypse and the coming of the rider on the pale horse, and finally the return of Jesus on the clouds to establish his kingdom on Earth.
But what if we are all looking in the wrong place? What if we are really living in the time AFTER that, in the time when Satan is loosed from his prison for a “little season”? What if this notion of waiting for the second coming is part of Satan’s grand deception, and the 1000-year reign of Christ already happened? This article discusses this idea and what it means for our faith and our every-day life.
In the Book of Revelation, St. John The Divine writes about the Millennial Kingdom, also known as the Millennial Reign of Christ in chapter 20 verse 4-6. It refers to a 1,000-year period during which Satan is sealed in the bottomless pit, so “that he should deceive the nations no more”.
During this time, those that died for the witness of Jesus and did not take the mark of the beast would “live and reign with Christ for a thousand years… This is the first resurrection.” Other biblical prophets speak about this millennial kingdom as an unprecedented period of peace, prosperity, and spiritual enlightenment.
Understanding the Millennial Kingdom requires placing it within the broader context of Biblical end times prophecy:
Several Biblical passages are interpreted as references to the Millennial Kingdom:
During this golden age, life on Earth will be dramatically different:
Satan’s Little Season refers to a brief period following the Millennial Kingdom when Satan is released from his thousand-year imprisonment. This concept comes primarily from Revelation 20:2-3,7-10.
“2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a LITTLE SEASON.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone…”
In today’s world, what’s up is down and what’s down is up. Here’s just some of the hypocrisy that I see in the world today. Lies are complicated. Truth is Simple. It makes more sense to me that we are living in a time of deception when you simply look at our current events:
This period serves several theological purposes:
So we heard of the first resurrection, this was when those killed for the witness of Jesus get to live and reign with him for a thousand years without the influence of Satan. But who lives during the time when Satan is loosed from the bottomless pit? The answer is in Revelation 20:5.
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.”
What? I don’t remember this from Sunday School. My pastor never said anything about the first resurrection and the rest of the dead living again. So what does this mean?
To me, the “rest of the dead” could be all the souls that messed up and took the mark of the beast the first time, or died before Jesus ever was born, thereby never having the chance to choose a side.
I think that all souls have two paths they can take. The positive polarity that Jesus offers as service to others, or the negative polarity that Satan offers as service to self. I think that if a soul hasn’t had a chance to make that free will choice, God is giving them this chance now in the “Little Season”.
Perhaps that is the whole purpose of releasing Satan from his prison in the first place. I mean, the bible doesn’t really say WHY he must be loosed, just that he is. So it makes sense to me that God is giving Satan a chance to present his case to us, giving us a metaphorical pro and cons list, so we can make an informed choice.
Good, or Evil.
Now is the time to choose.
If the Millennial Reign of Christ already happened, and we are living in Satan’s Little Season, then our entire conscious framework of who we are and. more importantly, “when” we are is called into question. This idea also can explain a lot of what we see in our current world. And looking at our leadership through this lens can start making sense of their motivations.
For me, this is not a salvation issue. Whether we are before or after Jesus’s earthly reign does not change the fact that Jesus is a way to a personal connection with God. This actually cements my belief even more, because now all the passages where Jesus said he was coming quickly are true. This makes the bible MORE truthful. This should be celebrated.
This idea also means that we are even closer to the elimination of evil from the world. Just make sure that you are siding with the positive side as Jesus taught.
Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.
